Weyl’s Character Formula for Representations of Semisimple Lie Algebras
Weyl’s character formula is a useful tool in understanding the structure of irreducible representations of semisimple Lie algebras. Even more important than the character formula itself is a corollary, the Weyl dimension formula, which gives a fairly simple expression for the total dimension of the representation in terms of the root system of the Lie algebra. Although the results discussed are...
متن کاملTwining Character Formula of Kac-wakimoto Type for Affine Lie Algebras
We prove a formula of Kac-Wakimoto type for the twining characters of irreducible highest weight modules of symmetric, noncritical, integrally dominant highest weights over affine Lie algebras. This formula describes the twining character in terms of the subgroup of the integral Weyl group consisting of elements which commute with the Dynkin diagram automorphism. The main tools in our proof are...
متن کاملGeneralized notion of character amenability
This paper continues the investigation of the rst author begun in part one. The hereditary properties of n-homomorphism amenability for Banach algebras are investigated and the relations between n-homomorphism amenability of a Banach algebra and its ideals are found. Analogous to the character amenability, it is shown that the tensor product of two unital Banach algebras is n-homomorphism amena...
متن کاملA Poincaré-Hopf type formula for Chern character numbers
For two complex vector bundles admitting a homomorphism with isolated singularities between them, we establish a Poincaré-Hopf type formula for the difference of the Chern character numbers of these two vector bundles. As a consequence, we extend the original Poincaré-Hopf index formula to the case of complex vector fields.
متن کاملBounded Approximate Character Amenability of Banach Algebras
The bounded approximate version of $varphi$-amenability and character amenability are introduced and studied. These new notions are characterized in several different ways, and some hereditary properties of them are established. The general theory for these concepts is also developed. Moreover, some examples are given to show that these notions are different from the others. Finally, bounded ap...
